Copyright & DMCA Policy

Mann Robinson Distribution respects the intellectual property of others and expects the filmmakers we work with to do the same. Every filmmaker who submits a film represents that they own it or have the rights to distribute it. This policy explains how to report copyright infringement and how we respond, consistent with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Reporting copyright infringement (takedown notice)

If you believe a film or material we distribute infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (below) that includes:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (title, link, or where it appears).
4. Your contact information, name, address, phone, and email.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

How we respond

When we receive a valid notice, we will act promptly to remove or disable access to the material and notify the filmmaker who submitted it. Incomplete notices may delay our response.

Counter-notification

If your material was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send our designated agent a counter-notice that includes:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
4. Your name, address, and phone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.

Repeat infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of filmmakers who are repeat infringers.
