Filmmaker FAQ

Clear answers on how we work: the agreement, payments, timing, delivery, and the reporting you receive.

Getting started

What kinds of projects do you accept?

We accept full features, series, documentaries, shorts, and vertical content across all genres. We prefer unreleased films. If your film has already been released, please let us know which networks it appears on, and we will review it provided there is no pending exclusive agreement with another distributor.

How do I submit my film?

Complete the submission form on our website with your trailer link and project details. Your submission is sent directly to our review team, and you can typically expect a response within a couple of days on whether your project is a fit.

How long until I hear back?

Typically within a couple of days. Our dashboard lets our team review submissions efficiently, so your project does not sit waiting.

What happens after I am approved?

You receive access to your portal, where you complete your distribution agreement and upload your full project, including your film, artwork, and captions. From there, we handle delivery to the networks on your behalf.

The agreement

What is your fee?

Our standard distribution fee is 20 percent, itemized clearly on every statement. Specific terms are discussed directly with each filmmaker.

Do I keep the rights to my film?

Yes. You retain full ownership, intellectual property, and copyright. The only right you grant us is the right to sell or lease your film to networks. Nothing more.

Is it exclusive, and how long is the term?

Our agreements are generally exclusive, with an initial two year term that renews annually unless either party provides notice to end it. Where there are networks we are unable to reach, we are open to discussing nonexclusive rights on a case by case basis.

Do you offer money up front (minimum guarantees)?

Yes, on qualifying projects. Minimum guarantees are offered selectively rather than automatically, but for the right project they are available.

Your numbers

How do I see what my film is earning?

This is the part of our service we are proudest of. You receive a private, professional dashboard that presents real analytics, not simply totals, updated every single day for every network your project appears on. On platforms that run advertising, you see your views and impressions by the day. On subscription platforms, you see your actual views and the revenue they generate. Your complete payment history and earnings are broken down by quarter, by week, and by day, in one place, available to you at any time.

How often is it updated?

Daily. Your figures refresh from the networks, so you always know exactly where your project stands.

Getting paid

When do I get paid?

Payments are issued quarterly. Networks remit approximately 90 days after the close of the quarter in which your film launches. We then require a few days for accounting before your payment is released. As an example, a film that goes live in the first quarter receives its first payment in the first week of July, and quarterly thereafter.

How am I paid, and is there a minimum?

Payments are made by ACH through QuickBooks, with Zelle available in some cases. There is no minimum threshold. Whatever you are owed, after any recoupment, is paid. Your tax documentation is handled through a secure QuickBooks link we provide upon approval.

Going live

How long until my film is live?

We submit your title to the platforms within the same week you complete your upload. Platforms typically take three to four weeks to accept a title, and roughly 60 days to publish it. In practice, plan on approximately 90 days from upload to live, and occasionally longer depending on platform volume.

Do I get a release date?

TIVI, our television network, provides a confirmed release date on qualifying projects, which gives you time to promote your film and hold a release event. Other platforms release within a window rather than on a fixed date, though larger projects with recognizable talent are sometimes granted a set date.

Which platforms will my film be on?

We hold direct access to Tubi, Amazon, Apple, YouTube Movies, TIVI, Roku, BET, Peacock, and more. Placement depends on your film and the terms of your agreement.

What territories do you cover?

Primarily the United States and Canada, with international reach through select networks such as TIVI.

Delivery and materials

What do I need to deliver?

Your film and trailer, poster and hero artwork in several aspect ratios, background stills, and closed captions. For video, please provide a finished MP4 (H.264) rather than a raw, uncompressed master. Every required item is listed in your portal.

What if I do not have captions or artwork?

We can produce them for you at standard industry rates. We cover the cost up front, confirm the amount with you before any work begins, and recoup it from your first earnings.

Support
