Mann Robinson Distribution

Film Distribution in Atlanta, Georgia: A Guide for Independent Filmmakers

Atlanta film distribution for independent filmmakers. 20 percent fee, quarterly payments, about 90 days to go live, and you keep ownership of your film.

Who handles film distribution in Atlanta?

Mann Robinson Distribution is an independent film and television distribution company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with presence in Detroit and Los Angeles. We place films, TV shows, sitcoms and reality series on major streaming platforms and networks, including Tubi. If you have a finished film and you are deciding who to trust with it, this page states plainly what we do, what we charge, and what happens after you sign.

Why does a finished film need a distributor?

Major streaming platforms generally take delivery of independent content through established distribution partners rather than from individual filmmakers. That is the practical reason a finished film needs one, regardless of how good the film is. A distributor carries the platform relationships, prepares and delivers the technical package, manages the catalog listing and artwork, then collects and reports the revenue that comes back.

Georgia's production incentive brought the crews, the stages and the post houses to Atlanta, and independent features, series and unscripted shows are completed here outside the studio system. Distribution is the step that follows, and it is the step we handle. Being headquartered in Atlanta puts us in the same market as the filmmakers whose work we take on.

What does Mann Robinson Distribution actually do?

What are the terms?

Our standard agreement is set out below in plain language. Some deals differ by agreement, and we will tell you before you sign if yours does.

How long does it take to get my movie on streaming?

Plan on roughly 90 days from signature to go live. That window covers deliverable review, captioning and artwork, metadata preparation, platform submission and the platform's own ingest and scheduling. Films missing captions, a textless master or clear chain of title take longer, which is why we begin the deliverables conversation early in the process rather than at the end.

How do filmmakers get paid, and how do you verify the numbers?

On ad supported platforms your film does not earn per view. It earns on impressions multiplied by CPM, meaning the number of ad impressions your title serves against the rate paid for them. That is the mechanism behind every AVOD payment, and it is what we report.

Every filmmaker we represent gets a login to our portal. It shows impressions, CPM and earnings broken out per platform, alongside statements and payment history. You do not have to email us to ask how your film is doing, or take a summary figure on faith. The detail behind the number is on screen, which is the point of the portal.

How should you approach a distributor with a finished film?

Working with an Atlanta company

Being based in Atlanta means we can sit down with you. Georgia filmmakers, and filmmakers across the Southeast who come through this market, get a direct conversation about the film, the terms, and the plan for placing it. Atlanta is a working production market and we operate inside it year round, close to the filmmakers and the projects. Our Detroit and Los Angeles presence extends the same process to filmmakers in those markets.
